Birmingham: Airline, Airport and Route Advertising

Use this prefix for new threads for Birmingham Airport
RBH Creative Communications Agency have been appointed to do some work for BHX.

The appointment will see RBH’s creative team develop a brand video for Birmingham Airport, as well as producing advertising and exhibition stand collateral for the World Routes Conference. Birmingham Airport celebrated its seventeenth consecutive month of record breaking growth in July, with 1.2 million passengers passing through its gates.

Justine Howl, head of communications for Birmingham Airport, said: “RBH have created ideas that will allow us to tell our exciting story in an engaging way to many different stakeholders. Birmingham Airport is going through a very exciting time, with record passenger figures, new airlines and significant long-haul growth, and it’s playing an important part in the success of the region. We feel that the collateral produced by RBH has longevity to reference future developments in a creative way, and will bring all our strengths together to help us attract more business to the airport and wider region.”

Flybe are running a radio ad campaign (Capital I think). Amsterdam was featured a few weeks ago but it now seems to have moved on to their new route to Toulouse.

KLM are also on Capital with a competition to win a flight to one of their worldwide destinations.

The highly impressive Jet2 ad machine rolls on. Both radio and television ads promoting their new Birmingham base are still running, along with a competition on Heart FM where callers can win a flight. Yesterday the Jet2 roadshow was in Coventry and today it took over Victoria Square in Central Birmingham.

Very few people that I speak to in Oxford use Birmingham Airport. Most of these don't even give it a consideration when flying, most likely thinking that the London airports, including Gatwick are closer and easier to get to. They couldn't be further from the truth. In addition to the direct train, there is now a coach to Birmingham Airport from Oxford and it is great to see that (probably) for the first time at Oxford train station there is advertising from the airport itself, albeit small, to promote the airport's long haul routes! Promotion of the short haul routes could work wonders too methinks!

It's still bookable, although only until the end of March.

Maybe they ordered the posters before it was announced?

Good to see.

Did anyone catch Central News Weather this evening? They showed a cracking picture of an Emirates A380 departing BHX into a dramatic looking sky. Some good exposure for the service 🙂

Make Birmingham relevant....a telling comment following the initial contribution...can Birmingham be similar to Frankfurt, Zurich, Milan, and the very numerous non Capital cities globally?

Can BHX Management look so widely or are the Shareholders keeping expansion to the next ownership structures?

Picked up some friends from the airport today and it was pleasing to see lots of Jet2 advertising. The pictures are from T2 and arrivals but as we walked through to Luggage Point there are huge adverts in T1 for Jet2 and Jet2 Holidays, ironically they are above the Monarch check in area :shamefullyembarrassed:

It was also nice to see adverts for Qatar.

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
