BM took the BRS-BRU route into its own airline operations for this winter. Previously it had operated for Brussels Airlines. I have a vague recollection that this summer they will be returning to operating for Brussels Airlines (SN/SAB code). However, looking at Mayfly for next Sunday, the first day of the summer operations for most scheduled airlines, BRS-BRU is still showing a BM flight code and number. Perhaps I dreamed the switch back.

In any case, whether this will or would have made any difference to aircraft/crew availability I have no idea.

alphagolf makes a good point though about BM standing in for BE who are standing in for Eastern but then getting Eastern to stand in for them elsewhere. It seems very abstruse.

I think the BRS to BRU reverts to SN flight numbers operated by bmiregional from the 1st September 2018 not sure why they wouldn't leave it until the start of the Winter 18/19 schedule...

Not seen about various strikes in france.
The strikes started on the21st of march 7pm,and due to finish on Friday the23rd of march at 7pm.
not checked if any French flights has been cancelled. I think its random strikes just about any where.

Wouldn't be France without strikes. The French and others had the neck to call Britain the sick man of Europe in the 1970s when this country was plagued by strikes.

Ryanair has cancelled its Malaga rotation today. Perhaps that's linked to the French industrial action as the flight would normally transit French air space along part of its route.

The last weekday of the winter season today and all 87 departures and 87 arrivals operated. (y)

It's been a difficult month with the weather so it's good that the winter season is ending well.

We sure would like to think better weather just around the corner. I was looking at advanced weather shows that snow forcast over the easter period and could just about snow any where in the UK.
They keep on about global warming but this year winter weather one way or another has been a long one. So we hope airports can get on with their flying programes with no weather diverts starting easter.

Tuesday 27 March 2018

Some thick mist this morning at BRS with the following diversions/cancellations.

BM2002 from BRU due 0925 diverted to BHX
BM1842 from MUC due 1140 diverted to EXT

GR642/643 from/to GCI 1150/1220 cancelled
BM1837/1838 to/from HAM 1725/2120 cancelled

Wednesday 28 March 2018

The morning BM CDG rotation was cancelled today according to the BRS website. Yesterday the weather made things difficult for them but they seemed to cope pretty well, apart from the HAM cancellation.

Computer breakdown a glitch they say at eurocontrol. Many flights cancelled or big delays all over Europe and the UK.

I see the Bristol Post has been up to their usual tricks of slating the airport at every opportunity over the last week or so.

Passengers on Ireland flight grounded at Bristol Airport

Flights from Bristol Airport at risk of cancellation or delays

Potholes so deep on the road around Bristol Airport

Bristol Airport travellers' holidays ruined as jet fuel is sprayed

Every airport has it's fair share of drama but it's generally not flaunted around the internet so freely as the Bristol post does. Clearly the majority of this is click bate rather than providing a decent news service.

If anybody would like to create a positive news story about Bristol airport and place it on the Bristol Airport - General thread, I'll place it on the forum homepage with a positive headline and I'll promote it on twitter with hashtags of your desire.

No cancellations at BRS although several flights still to land are showing delays up to two hours.

I know at EDI they announced that the EZY BRS flight was going to be delayed by an hour. My sister was due back this evening with Aer Lingus to Manchester from Dublin and they cancelled her flight. She's having to overnight in Dublin and come back in the afternoon. Looks like passengers from Bristol have been lucky.

Yes, there were two EDIs this evening.

EZY 428 due 1815 showed expected arrival 1805 and EZY 430 due 2015 showed expected arrival 2112, which is the one you heard. BRS does seem to have escaped apart from some delays. I hope I'm not speaking too soon as there are another 16 flights due in either side of midnight and I suppose there still might be a problem or too.

If no-one else wants to have a go I'll do something.

I see the rotation to MUC Saturday will be cancelled due to industrial issues at MUC.

According to a poster on another forum all bmi regional flights to/from MUC tomorow are cancelled because of this industrial action - over a dozen rotations from various airports including BRS.
