With the ruling that KPMG can't sell Monarchs slots and them now being returned to go into the pot i think we can expect an announcement soon enough of LEVEL launching routes from London Gatwick to combat Norwegian.

Level has been out performing expectations by all accounts. Do you think #Level will be showing any interest in the Monarch slots at Manchester, Birmingham or dare I say it, Leeds?

Yeah it does seem to be doing well. I'd be surprised if they turned up at MAN, BHX or LBA in the near future. I think IAGs main concern is securing those slots at LGW to combat Norwegian. Though in the long term then maybe they could look at regional airports maybe operating W patterns with LGW based aircraft?

Airline group IAG opens Paris base for Level

http://www.bbc.com/news/business-42154035

LEVEL opening a new base at Paris Orly next year with flights to Montreal, Newark, Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe) and Fort-de-France (Martinique).

Boston will also be launched from their existing base at Barcelona.

Sounds like the base at Paris will be operated by OpenSkies crew with that airline ceasing to operate from next summer.

Suggestion is made in the article that with Level aiming to have 30 aircraft in the fleet by 2022, and with IAG recently securing slots at Gatwick, that LEVEL might use those slots to further compete with Norwegian.

For now at least, LEVEL seems to be more focused on mainland Europe than the UK. Paris was previously suggested as a new base alongside Rome, so I would expect flights to launch from Rome once LEVEL can acquire enough aircraft. Perhaps now that IAG have more slots at LGW, a new base may open their next, but I doubt we'll see LEVEL at any regional airports anytime soon - if any Manchester probably has the best bet.

IAG have launched a new low cost subsidiary called Anisec that will operate flights from Vienna using the LEVEL brand and sold through the Vueling website initially. The first flights will start on the 17th July. Destinations include London Gatwick, Palma de Mallorca, Paris, Dubrovnik, Larnaca, 6 Spanish destinations and 3 in Italy.

LEVEL’s Austrian subsidiary has gone under.

Most likely they were already weakened by the LCC feeding frenzy that was going on at VIE before the pandemic.
