    Infrastructure, Construction & Developments

I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t have been able to handle some of the 747s that have departed directly to Hong Kong. The Korean air charter, departed directly back to Seoul, which is a bit closer and I’m not 100% sure if it could have done that off the old runway length. But I think it would have...

    Birmingham Airport Cargo Operations

Could it be that BHX has let some 747 flights go so that they can handle Maersk? I have a worry (this is a personal hunch, I don’t have inside information) that Maersk might only be operating into BHX due to a lack of slots at EMA, where they already have a large presence.

    Random Stuff!

If you look on FR24 right now, a rare Basler BT-67 (C-GEAJ) is passing to the east of Birmingham (and just west of Leicester) at 10,000 feet.

    Air Accidents and Incidents discussions

Unfortunately two rare planes got destroyed in this collision. Fortunately no casualties. I think Safe Air might need to change their name now! https://airlive.net/emergency/2024/03/31/safe-air-boeing-727-collides-with-disabled-md-82-while-landing-in-south-sudan/ On March 31, 2024, a Safe Air...

If this rebuild doesn’t make it impractical for passengers to keep using the Air-rail link, then I would rather see it stay open. I have no doubt it will close at some point, but people don’t have to wait outdoors with the existing setup. In addition, the new people movers will have further to...

Cars, Traffic & Roads - Thread

from what I’ve seen, it seems car mechanics don’t just need to be mechanics now - they also have to be computer programmers! I suppose the benefit is if the computer detects faults in advance. As a child I remember at least three occasions where I had to sit by the side of the road for hours...

First visit for that aircraft I believe. I notice it’s in a VIP configuration. Could it be for someone who owns racehorses at Cheltenham?

    Brussels Airlines

I find it interesting, that SAS and Brussels seem to be making cuts or reductions to EDI in winter, whereas at MAN and BHX, any cuts from these airlines have tended to be in the summer period. Assuming that this is indeed just a seasonal thing, I would hazard a guess that these airlines rely...
