FR Summer 2018 has been loaded for CWL.

FAO and TFS remain as is. Wonder if there is more to come ?

According to Prune Ryanair have just introduced Malta as a new destination to BFS on a Malta based aircraft. I'm hoping that means they've based another aircraft at Malta and so might consider CWL as well then. A once weekly flight should do well out of CWL. Fingers crossed!

Hopefully they are expanding their MLA base and will include CWL!

Always very wary when it comes to FR, with the fact they currently only operate two routes, 1 which was already operated from a scheduled point of view, any expansion will likely involve one of the big 3 ( AGP, ALC, PMI) being added, Of course competition is good for the customer with lower prices, if however FR did begin one of these and then VY decided to scale back on the routes as has been the case under major competition at other U.K regions, then we are left in the hands of an airline which again if the airport didn't offer a deal that suited them, would up sticks and we would be back to the BMI Baby aftershock all over again, Don't get me wrong I'd like to see more routes added, IBZ, ACE for example are underserved, while MLA is no longer served at all, It's just a step on the side of caution There seems to be a good relationship with IAG, I wouldn't like to see that disappear.

That is the dilemna that the airport faces. To increase the amount of passengers it will need an airline like Ryanair to come aboard and launch new routes and if they base then they will look at the Spanish routes because they are the money makers. The problem for the airport is do they try and find an airline that will base and launch lots of routes or do they stick with an airline that will only offer 4? Looking at Vueling they don't seem to be interested in offering anything more. Look at the Flybe's Rome route, Vueling would've been the obvious airline for it but by the looks of it weren't willing or able to offer the route, they have a base at Ibiza as well but don't seem to be willing to offer it from CWL. Personally i think Cardiff could sustain both Ryanair and Vueling.

Just looked up Korfball - it's a game of Dutch origin similar to basketball with each team consisting of 12 players: 6 men and 6 women

Back on topic...

I've been looking at prices for Ryanairs routes to Faro and TFS and there are some good deals on their i looked at TFS at the end of January and £55 return on the basic fare. Faro for early October £50 return on the basic fare. So some good offers onsale.

Which isn't necessarily great for the profitability of the route. How does it compare to BE?
Flybe are well over double the price on their basic fare on Faro. Some of the flights one way for FR are discounted down to 16.99.

It looks like Ryaniar have taken down summer 18. Just checked CWLs routes and they are not onsale after March 2018. I also checked BOH, BRS and BFS's Malta flights (was hoping FR would launch that for CWL) whether this means they are chopping and changing their whole schedule, just checked DUB and that's the same.
Hopefully CWL's flights will return at the same frequencies. Honestly i don't expect anymore than that from Ryanair though i hope to be surprised.

It looks like Cardiff is lucky to keep the routes it has and that anymore new hopes and a hope for a base are fully much over now.
Ryanair is cancelling 18,000 flights and grounding 25 aircraft from November 2017. 34 routes have been suspended and from April 2018 Ryaniar will ground 10 737s. Looks like this is going to have a lasting impact on Ryanair expansion in the future.
