More later :)

Birmingham's central core with an A380 tail in the foreground.

Just to the right of the central core is the CBD with a huge amount of construction going on and plenty more on the way.

An even wider angle with the tail of a Qatar 787 also sneaking in.

They sure were.

Thought I'd make the most of it as once the Hilton is up the view will be blocked, unless they offer airport view rooms in which case I may have to get one :)
Cheers Ray!

I'd often thought what the view might be from that vantage point, but also wondered if I'd find myself surrounded by security forces (lone man on top level of airport car park with long lens, may look suspicious).
I must give it a try, before the Hilton obscures the view. Whilst I have a cracking lens (Nikon 70-200 f2.8) and both Nikon 1.4 and 2.0 teleconverters. My aging Nikon D200 body has only a 10.2MP sensor thus limiting my ability to digitally 'zoom' the photos.

My first camera was a Brownie 127 so eat your hearts out, by the way I've got no idea whatsoever about photography or cameras.
So no smarty pant replies required as I won't understand them anyway !!!

Ha, ha. The thought of taking pics at BHX with a Brownie 127 is amusing to say the least. I had one too when I was a kid - it had a white button to press to take the snaps which were tiny anyway. How far we have come since then but no doubt future generations will smile tolerantly at the latest kit of the 2017s.

Don't wait too long, construction is well underway.

It's a nice spot offering views of the 33 threshold and the south side of T2 and the remotes. I remembered taking the pictures below but cannot believe they were as long ago as 2012 :jawdrop:

I sadly had to cancel the spotting trip I planned for Friday but I am loving the fact that we have so many pictures from everyone catching the end of the summer season flights :)
