hi guys.

Presuming the reason why it's dearer from LBA than MAN was due to them having to pay jet2 for the seats onboard where as its cheaper to use there own airline?

Thanks

So are these extra holidays or just Thomas Cook changing airlines from Jet 2 to Monarch ? and o we think that is why the A321 has been mentioned ?

I didn't compare with MAN. I did a "dummy booking" to see where they were flying to from LBA and which airline they were using.

Booked a week in june next year to Palma and as 48vanman posted flying with Evelop airlines, i hope they are not some here to day gone tomorrow airline.

You'll be pleased to know that Spanish based charter Evelop airlines are what was left of the good bits of ex Orbest Airlines and before that Iberworld. So they have been around a long time and are starting rebuild a good reputation.

Looks like the Evelop flight has disappeared, anybody else noticed the same?

Looks like Thomas Cook Holidays may have done a seat deal with Monarch Airlines as they are now showing Leeds/Bradford to Palma operating 2x weekly (Tuesday & Saturday) for next summer 2017 instead of the planned Sunday charter which was to be operated by Spanish based airline Evelop

I thought Greybull Capital stated they would cease doing seat deals with third parties from this year, is this a change of policy, or are ticket sales not strong enough under their own brand.

Thomas Cook Holidays will be running a day trip up to Lapland next winter from Leeds/Bradford. The flight will operate on Saturday, December 14th and will be operated by one of the own Thomas Cook Airlines aircraft.

Holiday operator returns to Leeds Bradford Airport

After a hiatus of five years, Thomas Cook has returned to Leeds Bradford Airport.

Announced last year, Thomas Cook flights have now started back up at the regional airport.

Thomas Cook had its last season at LBA in summer 2012. That year the company reported a £17m loss after failing to commercialise on the London 2012 Olympics and was forced to wind back operations in certain areas.

The operator how has two seasons on sale, with Dalaman in Turkey added as an extra destination for 2018.

The renewed interest In Leeds Bradford has seen services to Naples, Larnaca, Alicante, Menorca, Faro, Majorca and Tenerife begin this week to meet demand from holidaymakers.

Today sees the first departures to Faro, Majorca and Tenerife.

Chris Mottershead, managing director at Thomas Cook UK, said: “We are thrilled to once again be offering our customers in the Leeds Bradford area the ease of flying from their local airport. We have a great range of quality holidays on offer in some of the most popular holiday hotspots, and look forward to making sure our customers have a holiday to remember.”

Tony Hallwood, aviation development director at LBA, said: “We are so pleased to see the reintroduction of Thomas Cook departures from LBA, especially as they are launching such a wide range of holiday packages which will be perfect for families and couples alike.

“We are proud to see the Thomas Cook brand here again at LBA and it’s going to be a great week welcoming Thomas Cook customers flying out on the many inaugural flights in the coming days – as well those departing throughout the summer.

“This is a fantastic start to Summer 17 and we are sure the programme will be a huge success. It’s also brilliant to see Summer 2018 holidays go on sale, providing yet more choice for our passengers.”

From November Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium will be shut down. 2 of it's A320s will go to Brussels Airlines. Leaving 3 to go to the rest of the group. BRS will get an A320 in 2018, CWL is an A320 operation so if Thomas Cook holidays have returned to LBA then the 3rd aircraft could go to LBA in 2018 possibly.
