There are moves afoot to ban such sites in the USA. They are citing Security/business concerns because "anybody" can easily access where an aircraft is at any time.

Interesting point Seasider.

As nice as it is to have do you think it's perhaps just too much information? It doesn't take too much imagination to think out how dangerous that information could be in the wrong hands. The

I do not know, but I would imagine that Terror/Criminal organisations have the ability/resources to find out the information that they require to carry out their activities.
I agree, there is far too much information available to anyone who can surf the net but which areas do you ban?

There used to be a setting on FR24 where you can show only flights to or from a specific airport but I just cannot remember how to do it.

Can it be done on the new version and if so can anybody explain how?

Many thanks.

The filter is in the little tower symbol at the bottom left on the app.

Thanks very much. It should make things easier when out and about.

Is there a way to do it on the normal desktop version?

Does anyone on this forum ever watch flights that go over the top of you or where you happen to be?
I ask as today with the help of FR24 I have been watching aircraft go over the house.
I have seen a Saudi B789 out of MAN,Eidelweiss A330-300 routing from Las Vegas to Zurich and an Air France B77W routing to CDG from Atlanta, amongst many more run of the mill stuff.
I used to regularly watch flights go over the top but I don't get much chance these days, with the help of FR24 I occasionally have a look what is going on.The airspace above Birmingham lately has been very busy,so I wondered if anyone else had seen anything interesting,or unusual?
It has been a nice way to relax and enjoy the sunshine on a day off.

Yep all the time! Usually get a lot USA East Coast flights crossing over Cardiff and the South Wales area as well as flights to Spain from MAN GLA LBA LPL and other northern airports. Depending on which direction they takeoff but I usually get the EZY flight to BFS and GLA crossing right over my house sometimes as well as the odd Flybe flight heading into CWL.

On clear days, as with Jerry, quite a lot of transatlantic flights come over the Bristol/Cardiff area, some out of or into LHR, others from or to north west Europe. There are also flights heading north and south to/from the Midlands, North of England and Scotland.

Occasionally Mrs TLY will look up and say, "I wonder where that's going", and FR24 provides the answer but I have to troll upstairs from the garden to look at the computer as I'm not into fancy mobile phones with all the modern internet connectivity.

I live about seven miles to the east of BRS with the approach path about a mile to the south so I can see and hear most of the inbounds into BRS, and for about a third of the year when 09 is the active runway most of those leaving the airport which by the time they reach our house are turning left overhead for Scotland/Ireland/North of England, slightly to the left for those heading towards London and northern Europe and to the right for the Med, Canaries and western France etc.

I can also see inbounds that have passed through the London area for CWL's westerly runway so long as the cloud base does not interfere.

Has anyone else noticed how many more military aircraft are showing up on FR24 over the UK? Today, I've seen many Hawk T2's (call sign 'NAVYHAWK'), RAF C17's, A400M's, C130's an A330 Voyager and a Typhoon. I've also seen KC135's and yesterday, I saw this -

Thanks for that Kevin. I must admit that I'm not a military spotter but I'll have to keep my eyes open a little more.

Likewise I'm more into commercial aviation than military, but I thought seeing a U2 show up on FR24 was quite unusual. We've had fast jets over here in Cambridgeshire tonight, which I assume were F15's from RAF Lakenheath. Sadly, they didn't show up on FR24.

I suspect a lot of military flyover yesterday. A little too cloudy to see visually, but the prolonged engine noise and non standard routing pointed to it being military aircraft and in small formations. Travelling both west and east at different times. Anyone know anything?

Yesterdays FR24 playback shows a USAF C-130 from Iceland overflew Birmingham, but flying N-S. There was also an aircraft with a blocked callsign flying E-W

Saw my "furthest away away from me" flyover this evening I was on the bus by the Hulme Arch (so roughly 1 mile from city centre Manchester) and I saw a trail that had a kink in it. There was nothing nearby (u.e within 50 miles) so I kept zooming out until I found PH-TXA which departed Manchester and that I saw pretty much overflying Skegness or around 110 miles away

I've often wondered how far we can possibly see.
